Chad was moved up to the varsity team as a freshman for the playoffs and was a two-way starter his remaining three years. Chad was named his team’s Most Valuable Running Back, Most Valuable Linebacker and the MVP both his junior and senior years. He was a two-way starter on the Division 7 State Championship Teams in 2003 and 2005. Chad was selected by the Detroit Free Press as the team captain for the Division 7 All State Team. Chad will play college football at Grand Valley State University.
Chad was a four-year varsity baseball player for the Gladiators and a three-year varsity basketball player. He maintained a 3.7 GPA and was recognized as a Scholar Athlete all four years in football, basketball and baseball. Chad was a volunteer for the Father Fred Foundation and the Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools Gladhander Auction all four years of high school. He participated in campground cleanup activities and volunteered to help with “Special Sports.” Chad was selected for the “Gladiator Trophy” as the player that embodies the Gladiator traits of character, compassion and commitment.
Chad thanked his mom and dad for always being there for him and helping him develop into the person he is today and get to where he is today. He said, “Thank you to all my family for all their love, support and encouragement, especially my brothers for being at all of my games and continually helping me be the best person and football player I can possibly be.” He gave thanks to his coaches, “who have always pushed me and have always sought to help me bring out my best.” He also thanked his teammates and friends for their help and encouragement throughout his life and football career.
