Brett was a two-year starter and a two-year Captain of the Rockets. He helped lead them to the MAC Championship in 2004. Brett was also a three-year starter on the varsity basketball team. He played varsity baseball and ran track for New Haven High School as well. Brett was a member of the National Honor Society with a gpa of 3.7. He was also a member of the Varsity Club and Pep, and the school newspaper.
Brett thanked all the people who were a big influence in his life. “I would like to thank God and my parents who are my inspirations. You have always been there for me no matter what and I love you so much. I would also like to thank Antie Hardy for everything she has done for me. A special thanks to my coach Jason Byers for seeing all the potential I had. Finally, yet importantly, I would like to thank all of the coaching staff and everybody who has supported me throughout my high school career.”
