Blake is the son of Lori McGhee. He has a younger sister, Blair, who is an eighth grader at Oakview Middle School. Blake moved from Manassas, Virginia to Lake Orion prior to starting in the eighth grade.

Blake played football in his freshman year. He was moved up to varsity in his sophomore year for the State Championship game in 2008. Although he did not play, he was honored to be a part of the team. Blake suffered a torn meniscus in his junior year and missed all but the last three games of the season. He was determined to return his senior year stronger and more aggressive to earn a starting position. Lake Orion finished with a 13-1 record and claimed the first Division 1 Championship in the history of the school. Blake received an award for the Offensive Lineman of the Year from his coaches. He was named Sports Athlete of the Week by North Oakland Sports.Com on August 17, 2010. He was also named one of the top 50 players to watch by the Oakland Press

He participated in power lifting in his sophomore and junior years. He celebrated winning states in 2009 and 2010 and winning second place in the state in the super heavy weight division. Blake qualified for states again his senior year. He was a volunteer for the ‘Bully Busters’ program at Oakview Middle School. He enjoys working with young kids and setting the example of a well rounded athlete.

Blake said, “I want to thank my mom for supporting me and encouraging me every step of the way.” I also want to thank my grandparents in Virginia for always calling after games and attending several of them this year.” He also thanked all of his coaches who, “continually supported, motivated and challenged me to be the best on and off the field.” Blake thanked his teammates, friends and the entire LO community for their support of the football team.  “You can always count on Lake Orion fans. They love football.”
