Barré, a four-year starter in all sports at the University Liggett High School, has earned four year Varsity Athlete in Football and Basketball Awards. He also received All Conference Awards. He also achieved all Division in lacrosse and All State in track and field. In football, as a freshman, he “made an immediate impact on his team, and excelled in all positions getting better as he grew older.” Barré played three years as a running back, wide receiver and defensive back. He, “has proven to be an avid opponent.” Barré had his coming out party as a sophomore, appearing on Channel 7 news two weeks in a row. As a Junior, Barré was selected captain. He set the tone for the season by garnering three interceptions and two touchdowns in the season opener. As a senior captain, he was ready to prove a personal goal, “to build a young team of worthy opponents, despite losing eight senior players the previous year. He inspired his teammates to win!” Barré recorded 14 touchdowns on 557 yards rushing and 676 yards receiving. His all purpose production exceeded 2,400 yards. He also recorded three interceptions and 96 tackles, after moving from his original position as a free safety and corner to strong safety.

 

Barré looks forward to playing collegiate football. He has received interest from Colorado College, Lehigh, Georgetown, Indiana, Wittenberg, Grand Valley and John Carroll Universities.

 

Barré said, “I can not believe the time has gone by so fast. I will never forget what I’ve been taught by my family, my coaches and friends. Thank you and I love you.
