Andrew is the oldest son of Charles and Rebecca Klompstra. He has one brother Cameron (15) and one sister Kaylee (13).

Andrew began his football career at just seven years old in the Cedar Springs Youth Football League where he was coached primarily by his father through the eighth grade. Andrew was a three-year varsity starter at both defensive end and offensive tackle. During his three-year varsity stint, he was coached by head Coach Brian Busen, defensive coach, Al Emery and offensive coach Kevin Martens. His senior year he was team Captain and awarded Most Valuable Offensive and Defensive Lineman by his team and coaches.

In addition to football, Andrew played three-years of high school basketball and two years of track and field. Andrew was also a two-year member of the National Honor Society and carried a 3.95 GPA throughout high school.

Andrew thanked, “my parents, siblings, grandparents, classmates and the Cedar Springs community for proudly supporting our team throughout the years.” He also thanked “Coaches Busen, Martens, Cooper, Emery and Wight for all their great coaching and support.” He gave “a special thanks to Coach Busen for his help with the recruiting process.” Andrew also thanked “my dad who coached me and ignited my passion for the game and my mom for being my biggest fan.”

Andrew has accepted a scholarship and will attend Grand Valley State University to pursue a medical career.
