Andrew started on the football field at 8 years old with the Gull Lake Youth Football Program. He was as committed then as he is now. “Andrew has a true passion for football and has been a leader on and off the field for many years.” Andrew earned two J.V. and two varsity letters in football. He was a two-way starter both varsity seasons. Andrew’s earned multiple awards as a result of his senor season. The team voted him captain and he led the team to a Wolverine Conference Championship. He was also awarded MVP in 2006.
Andrew was selected by Coach Blaesser to represent the team on Captain’s Council. He was in the weight room most days and was a member of the 1000 pound weight club. He was also a member of the track and field team and threw in the shotput and discuss events. Andrew worked hard to maintain his 3.25 GPA.
Andrew thanked his family for, “their support and for being at every game to cheer me on.” His parents, brother, sister and grandparents “are my biggest fans. A special thanks was given to his father who coached him through youth football and shared his love of the game. “A great big thank you to Coach Blaesser, Coach Keck and the entire football coaching staff for taking me to the next level and pushing me to be the best I can be.” He also thanked his teammates and friends for, “four great years of high school football.” He thanked the Gull Lake Community for, “being the best fans anywhere and for supporting Gull Lake Athletics.”
