Andrew began playing football his freshman year of high school on the freshman football team. He joined after the team’s second game and was starting on the team by the sixth game. His sophomore year, he was promoted to varsity where he started the final eight games at right guard. His junior year, he started all nine games at left tackle, and played defensive tackle. His senior year he started all nine games at left tackle, and was chosen as captain for the final game of the season. He was named the team’s Offensive Lineman of the Year as a senior.
Andrew has played three years on the Salem varsity baseball team which won their division in 2008. He was named All Conference honorable mention as a junior.
Andrew thanked his Mom and Dad for “always being supportive and helping me achieve a good work ethic.” He thanked his brother for “being there to cheer me on at my games.” He also thanked all his coaches, “especially Coach Salowich, Coach Rochon, and baseball Coach Rumberger, and all the other coaches who pushed me throughout the years.” Andrew gave “a special thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Grabowski, Uncle Carl, Uncle Rick, Uncle Jack, Uncle Dave as well as Aunt Joann, Aunt Sharon, Aunt Linda and Aunt Carol.” He also gave a “special thanks” to all of his friends especially the ‘Drew Crew’ for all their support throughout the season.” “Most of all,” he said, “I thank all my teammates for their support and for pushing me when I needed it.”
