Chooch was a three-year starter on the football team at Mendon. He also played hockey from age five to his sophomore year and won a number of awards. He played basketball up to eighth grade and baseball up to his junior year. Matt has attended many football camps in his high school career. At Michigan’s camp he won an MVP award for offensive lineman.

Matt thanked, “my family for all the support, my grandparents for all the games they came to, all my aunts, uncles, and cousins who’ve supported me and went to my games, friends of the family who’ve supported me, other parents, and teachers that have taken an interest in my future and congratulated me on the successes I had.” He also thanked his Rocket, JV and varsity coaches for, “teaching me this game of football and for helping me excel and develop my talents.” He thanked, “all the players that I have played with, thanks for the memories, fun and competition in practices.” Matt ended with, “A thank you everyone who came to Spartan Stadium to support me and thank you for those who will support me in the years to come.”
