Known as “Tank” by his coaches and teammates, Nick’s high school record with the Panthers was 44-3. He played fullback, SAM linebacker and punter. He completed his high school career with 8 school records including: 4,098 career rushing yards, 1,564 rushing yards in a season, 63 touchdowns, 5 touchdowns in a game, 25 touchdowns in a season, 394 career points, 150 tackles in a season, and 455 career tackles. As a sophomore he helped his team by scoring three touchdowns, to win the Division 8 State Championship at the Pontiac Silver Dome. In his senior year he earned his team’s coveted Chicken & Hog Award, (the chicken contributes the eggs, but the hog gives it ALL by providing the bacon!).

Nick was a four year letter winner in baseball and two year letter winner in track. He was a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a Student Council representative, 2006 Homecoming King, and a community volunteer.

Nick thanked the entire Climax-Scotts community for supporting him over the years. “Special thanks to all my coaches and trainers, for inspiring me to work harder to be the best I could be, including rocket coaches, Brian Hamilton and Mark Hanson, Junior High Coach Jack Gibson, JV Coach Jon Budden, Head Coach Kevin Langs and the entire BIG BLUE staff.” He thanked, “our cinematographer, Hank Sowles, Climax Crescent reporter, Bruce “Scoop” Rolfe, and “The Big Guy,” Kevin Ralston.” Lastly he thanked, “my family and friends for always showing me their love and support!”
