Chance’s love for playing football started in second grade. He played in various rocket leagues, for Blessed Sacrament Middle School and was a three year two-way starter for the Catholic Central Cougars. During his years at Catholic Central, Chance played outside and inside linebacker on defense and wingback and full back on offense. During his senior year, Chance amassed 737 yards and 16 touchdowns on 135 carries and he caught ten balls for 122 yards. On defense, he made 80 tackles, including 22 solos, 8 for losses and one interception. Chance will attend Southern Illinois University on a football scholarship.

Chance is also an accomplished wrestler. He was a four year varsity starter for the Cougars. Over Chance’s high school career, he won 167 matches which set the school record for most varsity career wins. In both his junior and senior years, Chance was an All State wrestler who took third place each year.

Chance also maintained a 4.0 GPA and received cum laude academic honors.

Chance thanked his family, friends, coaches and teammates for “all their support and encouragement” throughout his high school career. He said, “I could not have done it without all of you.” Chance “loved being a Catholic Central Cougar and I’m excited to be a Southern Illinois Saluki.”
